What is the difference between Microblading and the digital machine method?

Microblading is a process of implanting pigment into the upper layer of the skin - the epidermis.  This is the layer of skin that is visible to all and is constantly shedding and renewing itself, because of the process of cell turnover, the permanent make-up pigments will fade quicker, as apposed to the digital machine method which deposits pigments into the second layer of the skin - the dermis.  The cells of the dermis are more stable than the cells of the epidermis, so the pigment colour stays in place longer.

This method gives you more freedom to change your brow colour, and shape if you wish, sooner than that of the machine method.

How long does it last?
Between 12-18 months. Each person will hold the pigment differently, some longer than others, and that can be due to age, skin, and lifestyle.

It is vital that you have your first top-up 6 weeks after your first treatment, and that you follow the correct aftercare. Additional Top-ups may be required in some cases.

A Colour Boost is recommended yearly to retain the shape and pigment colour.
Is it Painful?

While there is some discomfort felt, it would not be regarded as pain. A topical anesthetic cream is applied to numb the area before hand, and small scratches may be felt during the treatment.

Do you have to remove all of my brow hair first?

Not at all. We work with existing brow hair to create natural, realistic looking brows. If you have alopecia, please be assured that although there may not be brow hair present, the treatment will also be ideal for you!

Is it suitable for me?

Microblading is perfect for those who want to fully reconstruct, define, cover gaps, or fill in over tweezed brows.
However, not everyone is suitable for the Epibrow treatment.

Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Conjunctivitis, Skin Infections & Disease, Recent Scar Tissue, Pacemakers and Chemotherapy are just some of the contraindications to this treatment.

Please get in contact should you have any medical issues you are un-sure about, and we can discuss the suitability to the treatment.
A copy of our Consultation and Declaration form can be found on our Treatment Journey page.

How long does the procedure take?

The treatment will take approximately an hour and a half.

Can I have a consultation?

Of course, this a complimentary service we offer to all clients. Use this time to ask any questions you may have. This is also an ideal opportunity for us to cover anything that may affect the treatment, complete relevant patch testing, discuss your brow desires and make a plan for your brow journey.

Should you decide to go ahead and book, a non-refundable deposit of £100 will be taken to secure your appointment. (You will also be advised not to consume alcohol for 24 hours prior to the treatment, sorry!!)

What can I expect on the day of the treatment?
Upon completing your Consultation and Medical form, the design of your brows will be discussed and planned thoroughly, once agreed the procedure will take place.

You will have the topical anaesthetic on for approximately 20-30 minutes whilst you are filling in your forms, you can use this time to relax with a drink and a magazine.

The procedure itself only takes around 30-45 minutes.

Some redness and mild swelling may be experienced after the treatment, but you should be able to continue with your day to day tasks.

Before and After photos will be taken to document your results. If you would prefer these to not to be used on social media, please inform us.
